How far up the rivers are you finding the Tarpon?
what are the delta rivers? you mean just the inlets and river systems north of charleston around the barrier islands?
i have been finding them back inside and out front of certain water ways
ALL GINKED UP
Santee Delta. North and South Santee rivers.
What baits are you using in the Delta’s? I fished them from flordia and we would find them off shore and running the bridges we would fish them with crabs on a float. I take it the bait is different coming from the santee. Are you sight fishing for them?
I can’t speak for him, but I would think live menhaden, mullet, or blue crabs. Maybe even a pinfish.
We were fishing a drop Saturday afternoon in the North Edisto and we had one somewhere around 48" jump about 10 yards from us. It was on a steep ledge that went from 45ft to 17ft deep very fast. Current was very swift. Is this a good spot to target?
Its definitely a good place to start. You want to look for a depth change where the bait can hold and thats where the tarpon will be. Its not always the case but more times than not it is.
