I have 3-9 x 40 tasco scope that bought in the late 80’s. Good scope on the 30-30 saddle rifle. Recently I have noted a small amount of haze on the inside of the front lens. Called Tasco “service” center and got a ____ _____ _____ call center and a canned answer of send us the scope ad money and we may call you back.
Anyone know somewhere that can clean and reseal this scope? I really hate to have to build a tank to do a nitrogen charge…
Reel, you can get a new Tasco, for less than $100! Save yourself some time and effort! Buy a new one, you got your money’s worth out of that one:wink:

Hey man, good to see you yesterday!
Anyway, I asked a buddy about your issue this morning, and came here to PM you!
He has used this guy for a Tasco scope. Said it was reasonably priced and turnaround time was quick!

Easy, the older Tascos were manufactured in Japan. The new, cheap ones, are not the same quality as the older ones…

Yea I am prob wasting time with this scope but she has been a good one.
Thanks Leadenwahboy! Good to meet you as well.
Take the scope off the rifle, walk to the nearest trash can and throw it in there. Go online to NatchezSS.com and order a Weaver Super Slam to replace it.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Back in the mid 60’s, I had a Tasco on a 7.7 Jap, and it fogged up on me! They were real cheap then!

Fantastic glass, some of the best you can get. Internals and adjustments aren’t very durable though as to rough treatment, not recoil. Were I laying down the coin for a Swaro, I’d just buy Schmidt and Bender or in the Z3 line equivalent, the Leica ER5 or Ziess Conquest. Karl Ziess and Meopta supply the glass for Swaro’s lenses.

Quality as defined by who’s wallet? There’s plenty of “quality” glass out there for a fraction of the cost of Swaro and the like. Especially for an old lever gun.

In my 20+ years of deer hunting with that setup,I have not made an adjustment to the scope after the initial sighting in.Maybe its the quality of the scope,or maybe I am extremely careful to and from the stand.Regardless,I am sold on Swaro, why should I not be?

Wasn’t saying you shouldn’t be. But for the price, it’s probably not feasible for his 30 year old lever gun.
