Team All Rise & FREEMAN 5-18-13 Blue one!(Pics)

Team All Rise combined forces with team Ripple Effect to take on the Georgetown Meat Fish slam!

Met Chunky Dunk, LnS Marine, Haywood, Brock, Big Ross, and eventually Bully (some one over slept a bit…) at the dock at 3:30. We pushed off the GT landing marina dock for the fishing grounds at 4:10. Beautiful ocean and the 33 Freeman made light work of it.

Lines in just after 6 and in 10 mins I had a dolphin on. Fought him for a few then pulled the hook at the transom. Not a tournament winning fish so no big deal.

Trolled for 45 mins or so and BAM long Rigger goes off ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!! Big Ross dove on it and the battle was on. Fish was taking drag but nothing out of the ordinary. ZZZZZZZZZZZZ!! Still effortlessly running though. I turned back toward him a bit and Ross started cranking. Then he stopped… You loose him? He gave me that “no Dumba$$” look and flipped the clicker back on. ZZZZZZ!!!

This is one big black fin…? Got more aggressive in my turn. Ross was able to gain some line but just as he did. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! It is only 170 feet deep. Could it be a yellowfin!? Finally!?

Bout that time big splash off the bow. TUNA ARE BUSTING!!

No wait… ZZZZZZZZZ!! Then just off the port bow a Big Blue Marlin starts gray hounding, the bow in Ross’s line pulls tight and the reel hits another gear. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!! We have her on a 30W with light fluro and she is giving it all it wants. ZZZZZZZZZ! Ross moves to the bow and Brock says now we are king fishing boys!

We were running 10 knots and the fish is still taking drag. Finally she slows a bit and we get closer. I asked Haywood to grab the camera. Chunky was ready to cut the line. We were in a tournament and Blue marlin might as well be a barracuda in his eyes at this point.

Ross was cranking like a wild man and we were really gaining now. Came up again and put on more of a show. Unfortunately Haywood was not famili

congrats on the fish… looks like a great time.

Love reading your reports Scoutin.

Any guess on the weight of the Blue? Also, Ross, Swilly or whatever his name is has been known to catch big Scamps:smiley:!!

Good job!

Swilly is something his buddy Tennant gave him because he said he looks like the guy on the TV show “Axe Men”.

Just had to mess with him!

Been telling everyone all week it is like walking through the desert dying of dehydration and finding a gold brick laying in the sand.

For the record I did not want to do it but I was the only one of seven who did not. Felt like we could win the tournament. Really was the right decision with the circumstance but SO hard to do!

Guess was 350 to 400.

But this is the internet and the best picture is a splash so for fun it was easy 900 to 1100.:smiley:
