My opinion on this is that every type of teaser that is not hard to launch and maintain in the spread is better than nothing at all. Can be a bit tricky without a good crew, but can definitly be accomplished. I ran a flying fish spreader bar 48" off my port cleat that i made and ran it just in front of my port short rigger which is normally a flat line unless Im running that spreader bar. Sometimes I run the dredge to if I have people that know what to do and look for. on the starboard side I rigged a penn 114 on my ttop and ran 400lb mono through the outrigger eyes to a squid daisy chain, and run it to the side n in front of my starboard flat line. I also have a squid daisy chain with a cedar plug attached and run that on a flatline sometimes to. The more comotion and stuff you have out the more fish you will attract to the boat. Even just leaving a slinger dolphin on the line longer will atract more fish to the boat. I would start out small like a daisy chain and then work your way to a spreader with a bird in front, then go with a nice cheap holographic fish dredge when you fell comfortable. #just my 2 sense
I typically run a small dredge off a downrigger on the LH side with a lure directly behind it. The downrigger makes it easy to clear. Run a squid chain off the RH cleat. Typically either a hard diving lure off the RH flat or a planer.

X2 on the mudflaps Im in the process of making my own out of 1/4 black rubber from work. Need to find some stainless eyelets to put in the front of them.

Agreed. Only seen them used on two different trips…both trips saw a marlin tearing them up. You can put an big illander at the end with a hookless ballyhoo on it.
Have you ever tried running a daisy chain in-line on your regular trolling rods? Works great especially with artificial rubber squids - all I do is put a snap swivel on the rear squid and run a bullet head skirt in front of a bally or frozen squid about 6 - 8ft behind it - usually run one on each corner - you just have to hand line a little when bringing a fish in. Saves space on a small boat and less stuff to pull in when clearing lines.
