Teasers on outriggers

I’m running double riggings on each outrigger, but how would I run teasers on my outriggers? I was thinking maybe some sort of short rod with a cheap reel and running line with snap through eyes on outriggers but would like some advice?
Thanks

You may want to watch the heavy mono, last year something grabbed my teaser and almost snapped my outrigger in half…
Just saying.

Its always a good idea to back the heavy mono with something light like 20ish lb test.

Why not just back the drag off on the reel!!!

thanks guys, would i run another rigging out or just run the mono straight off my reel through the outrigger eyes?

Just run it through the rigger eye. Pull it with the clicker and really light drag to avoid getting your outrigger ripped off.

I would run it through a glass eye flossed or zip tied to the outrigger eye.

If you have a new crew member or the drag on the reel locks up, this will give way before the outrigger.

This…x2!

Hearing a teaser reel get zipped is one of my favorite sounds. Especially when I’m standing next to a rod rigged with a pitch bait!

I use 2 old senitor reels attached to the rail on my fly bridge by screw clamps and run line thru a glass ring tied to the top of the rigger I use 200# braid and only the clicker on the reel

Almost too late for that pro tip…That is the part of the instructions my dog ate… [:I]

another thing you can try is to put a glass ring in the short rigger line maybe about 10-12 inches short of the clip and run the teaser through the glass ring. this way the teaser also comes in when you pull the short line in and puts the teaser right in front of the short line where you want it. so you dont have to run a third line

you didn’t say what type rigger setup you were using but if it is a single point mount, it better be heavy duty - like Capehorn, I had a bull dolphin (guessing around 50lbs+) come up under a squid daisy-chain run midway up a t-top mounted 16’ rigger about 10’ off the transom corner - he sat there for a minute an suddenly his pectoral fins lit up blue - I started to reel the daisy-chain in and the SOB ate the last two plastic squids and went ape s–t head slamming side to side - broke the rigger, popped off the daisy-chain and headed for Europe but not before tangling two lines on his way out - funny now but a true lesson-learned for P-man - I run my teasers off the corner cleats now

cable ties and glass eyes are the **** until one breaks and smacks the boat owner in the head.It took us a minute to figure out what the hell happened after that

Those zip ties will also snap when running and make a racket.
