telescoping outriggers

have a chance to get a pair super cheap. are they pretty good ?i have the regular lees, but the telescoping ones look like they’d ride alot nicer. wondering what some of your experiences with them might have been.

It reely depends on if you trailer your boat, cruise with your outriggers in, out, length of said outriggers, size of boat, possibly speed of boat, how regularly boat is fished, etc. If I had fixed outriggers paid for, I wouldn’t change. There are pros and cons of each.

I’ve always felt that on boats the less moving parts the better. Ya know…keep it simple. I personally have never used telescoping outriggers but see a lot of 'em out there.Maybe get them and try them…if you don’t like them sell 'em. Win/win situation if ya ask me.

not a fan of the telescoping riggers. you have to “telescope” them while running offshore. big negative in my opinion unless the new ones have changed this.

When it comes to cheap outriggers telescoping or fixed you get what you pay for. I used the Taco telescoping outriggers on 29 CC for years and really liked them b/c I trailered by boat. Given the amount of sway and other factors the cheaper ones can bend/chrimp making them impossible to retract.

I have the Taco Tele’s on my 32’CC,I have had them extended for 5 seasons.I run offshore with them extended,no problems at all.If you bring them in,then you have a pile of line that has to be secured.

thanks, i got them. the line wraps neatly around rodholders in t-top. i think they’ll work pretty good. anyone need any 14’ lees?
