I find myself unusually motivated to do a fix 'em up project on my trailer. Lots of bolts, guides, etc. need to be replaced, but I really need to do the work with the boat off the trailer. Has anyone ever tried to dry stack a boat for a week or two for this or any other reason? I can’t imagine that it would be very expensive and I would expect that there is a vacancy here or there.
I have down at least 4 or 5 boats here at my house, I put them on blocks and walk the trailer out from under it. takes a little time and the use of a good jack, but can have any boat off the trailer in a couple hours at best. then work on the the trailer to your hearts content! then a little time with a jack and walking it back on and you’re good to go. be glad to help if I can…
I rebuilt my trailer last year and thought about blocking up my boat. Fear of a visit from Mr. Murphy persuaded me to do otherwise. I eventually found someone with a dock and kept it there for a couple of weeks. I would be surprised if there is not someone here that would not be willing to do the same for you. Good Luck
DF freedom, I have the same fears about putting the boat on blocks, but really appreciate your offer, wizardref. I will look into my options this week and report back.
