He may be the guy for me then, as I live south.
I will call Palmetto too.
Thank you.
Got a quote for a bond, I though quite expensive for my little house. If we’re paying for them to exterminate, how come we have to buy the bond too? Am I missing something here? My wife actually handles it, but it seems like I’m paying to insure someone else’s work. What am i missing?
The bond is nothing more than insurance that termites won’t invade your property or invade again. The bond pays for the repair work if you get an infestation after the company has treated the house. It doesn’t cover any previous damage caused by termites. Anyone living in SC that owns a structure and doesn’t have a bond is living dangerously. The whole back wall of my house was infested and I didn’t notice it until I went to remodel my bathroom when I pulled the old tub out. The exterminating company won’t bond a property unless you have them treat it also. Some exterminators charge to transfer the bond if you sell your property and some don’t. A free termite bond thrown in is a good selling point to pontential buyers.
Get your house treated, around here its a matter of time. Get several quotes and ask many questions. I have done a lot of termite damage work trust me thoes little creatures are the devil.
Hey next time wave at me with all your fingers.
I did damage claims for Terminix, for 17 years. If your choosing between your Fire Insurance and a Termite Bond drop your Fire Insurance. There is 2/3’s more damage done by termites than fire in the Southeast. There are only two kinds of homes in the Southeast, homes with known termites and homes they have not been found in yet.
Slab homes are the worst, because by the time you know you have Termites, someone is in side tearing out your wall. With conventional construction a good company will find termites before they get to the living space.
Any suggestions for service on JI/Folly? For bond and service?

I second Palmetto Ext. They are great. Compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges. Palmetto never charges any booster fee. They can also give you a good transfer rate if the house was under bond. They are also Quality Pro certified witch means they go beyond the regs. You can go to Clemson agriculter web page and see the inspection results.
