Wind was up. My ole lady couldnt get the boat right so i could cast so it made it for a terrible shrimping day. She was frustrated, so that made me frustrated, so yeah everything went downhill from there. We barely even filled the bottom of cooler so i knew it was time to go. Catching 1 to 3 shrimp a cast and a few 10s or so, i gave up for yesterday trip. Never will shrimp again in the wind.
Agree, it was definitely windy when I came out Anderson Creek at 5:30pm. I like to shrimp with the wife or daughter driving the boat, which I know is not their favorite activity. Makes it double painful when it’s windy and just not fun. Had a buddy with me last night though, and with the NE wind we moved further South so that Bulls Island was blocking some of the wave action. We set up on the left side of the channel in 4-5’ and collected 1/4 cooler of very nice size shrimp in 3.5 runs. The wind laid down after 7pm. Made it out the gate at Garris Landing at 8:53PM! Might need to head back a little sooner next time.
Wind and Bulls Bay usually is not fun.
