Terrible Officials

Wow, now we’re making the leap to comparing football players to convicts on a prison yard…

In some cases, that is not a big leap

So anyways, about the officials, I thought they were fine. The only thing I found questionable against Clemson was Anthony’s ejection. I did not find the penalty questionable – he was absolutely late so it was a personal foul either way. However, I’m not sure it was targeting that merited an ejection.

</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”>

If you’ve ever been to prison, you know why that was a good call to eject the perp. One trouble maker with a simple chest bump or motion towards another inmate and the rest of the convicts get rabbid and act like animals.

Get rid of the troublemakers, nip it in the bud. Remember the infamous “brawl”? An absolute shameful low point in our states rivalry game. They are there to play football, win or lose, no need for WWE type thuggery.

Obviously, some folks here are worse at winning than they are at losing, especially considering they didn’t actually play in the game and most likely never played the game in their lives except maybe in the backyard… :kissing_closed_eyes:

So, you want all football to become flag. Maybe let the girls play so it becomes gender neutral?

Anthony should have been flagged for being late, ejected no.

Throw in the Watson TD that wasn’t, the fumble that was but wasn’t, the OS kick (never heard the rule they used), the 20 missed holding calls etc. It was a terribly officiated game.

Never really any doubt Clemson was in control from the start but, I would have preferred to have the score 49-7 or more.

BTW, Spurriers presser was great, he has more humility and honest assessment about the game than most of

Salty, the all knowing football God, has not heard of the OS kick rule. It can not be true. It must have been made up by USC.

I liked when the announcer commented, “I like a little unsportsmanlike conduct in my rivalry games.”

That particular OS kick has been used and executed a few times in the past couple of years. Evidently the coaching staff, the broadcasters and everyone but the officials was in the dark on that one.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

F the rulebook…

The USC player also signaled for a fair catch also.

Forward to 28:00, show me where he was signaling for a Fair Catch. He never waived his arm above his head, he put up his arms to catch the ball. Nice try though.

run 43 more seconds. It is clear.

Nice try

You can call for a fair catch on an onside kick? Didn’t think that was possible and if it is they why would anybody even try an onside kick.

Regardless I thought the ball had to bounce so that was the right call.

If it does not hit the ground, it is not a “On-side” kick.

The ball not bouncing on the turf is the explanation for the call made. He didn’t signal fair catch, at no point did he waive his arm above his head.

It didn’t matter in the end though did it. Clemson still dominated the chickens in every facet.

Nah, I’m pretty sure the chickens got dominated, heard it on the radio and watched it on TV. Even saw Spurrier admit it, why can’t you?

Ok. You are an idiot

That’s not a fair catch signal. If it is, that player needs to go back to fair catch signal school. Just say it FishB.5, the chickens got dominated. It won’t hurt and you’ll feel a lot better. Just let the anger over being a very bad team out, you knew the little taste of success wasn’t going to last.

Let it go FishB6-6, just let it go. Here listen to this, you’ll feel better. I can get my niece to sing it to you if you like.

To signal a fair catch the receiver must raise one arm fully above his head or make any gesture with his hand or fingers while the ball is in flight
