Thanks Fogman!

Great presentation last night. I’m also a fan of the Berry’s Flex-it. Like a lot of fishing techniques it takes a little time to master it and get your confidence up with it. I’ve often demonstrated the technique to people on my boat and catch a fish or two and then watch them try and duplicate it. They struggle at first but eventually get it right if I can keep them on top of the fish. Take your spoons to a swimming pool and see how they fall and what jigging techniques give the best fall and least “foul-ups” and you will have more confidence with what your spoon is doing near the bottom…

I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…

Ditto. A lot of good info.
Spoon jigging can be very addictive. Anyone who hasn’t tried it should give it a shot.

Thanks guys. Even though live bait fishing is my mainstay, there’s nothing like the rush of hooking a good fish on something that’s not real. Spoons are just other tools we can use to enhance the angling experience.

The swimming pool idea is a good one Woody! I don’t have a pool at my disposal but have looked at new spoons on the fall where I could see near the bottom to get an idea of the action before dropping them in fish. Interestingly I don’t have very many fouls where the bait flips up and hooks the line with the large striper spoons.

Spoon jigging does take practice and effort. That’s another reason why I enjoy it.
