Yesterday we sold the Hot Shot and delivered it to the new owner in Florida. It will be chartered out of Miami, keeping the Hot Shot name.
We want to thank all of those that fished with us on the 503 offshore fishing trips over the last eight years. It has been quite an experience, making a lot of friends along the way.
Thanks to all of the young men that have mated on the Hot Shot including my son David, Chip Byrd, Phillip Fender, Trad Dyches, Dean Kennedy, Niall Kennedy, David “Cappy” Capiello, Bryson Jennings, Tim “Shaggy” Schryver, Scott Hammond, Edward Bryant, Trey “Cricket” McMillan, Joey Gladden, Ryan Riggs, Will Freeman, John ■■■■■, David Lee, Ben Boss, and Hamilton. There are probably a few others I have missed.
I also want to thank my other captain, Howard Moseley. He is now running the Sadie Beth, a 54 ft. Paul Mann out of Ripley Light Yacht Club. Please feel free to give Howard a call (843-452-2744) if you are looking for a charter.
I logged over 5500 hours behind the wheel of the Hot Shot between North Carolina, South Carolina, and the Bahamas. A lot of good times and memories. Thanks for fishing with us!

You caught a bunch of good fish on those 503 trips. Your reports will be missed.
What is your next step? Where are you going from here?
Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!
Thanks for all of the great reports over the years Captain.
Hey Dick, much success in the future, give me a call if you want to ride along someday, always room for you. And thanks for all the chat out there, helped keep me on the fish quite a few days… Good luck!!
I’ll keep an eye out for them. I’m sure that if I hadn’t read this and seen them down here that I would have been a bit confused! THanks for all the reports. Good luck on your new venture.
You helped me out there one day a couple of years ago. I did not have radar, and you called me on the radio to help dodge thunderstorms one afernoon.
Good luck and I will miss seeing the Hot Shot out fishing.
Hey Cap’n Dick, glad to hear the deal went thru. It’s hard to sell a boat! Let me know when you’re ready to try the sharks…
I took a charter a while back on the hot shot, howard was a stand up guy and wealth of knowledge. Not only did I and my buddies have a great time, we also learned a great deal too.
Good luck and best wishes in the future.
…because everything is a conspiracy!!!

Capt Dick i appreciate the conversations we had at the dock when i had the slip at remleys, definately learned a few things.
Good luck in the future.
I have enjoyed listening to the Hotshot capts on 65 over the years. They always had good info for others.

You let me tag along a few times just to help out few summers back had a blast and learned a lot from you. Thanks for opportunity. We caught a mako one trip phillip was there too, will never forget that.
Thanks for the trips, Dick…as well as the reports, help, lies, etc. Learned quite a bit the times I mated for ya, and how valuable it is to always have bait in the water at all times. That boat will certainly be missed in the charleston area, it was always a main stay for producing in this area! best of luck!
