Several days ago, I posted about trying to find some shad roe for my elderly neighbor. I got a response from Sellsfish, who said he had a solution to my issue, and to stop by his store when I got in town.
I was headed down Highway 17 on the way back to Charlotte Saturday afternoon when I remembered Sellsfish’s response. I pulled into the parking lot, walked in the store and was immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the store, the selection or fresh fish/seafood, and the overall pleasant atmosphere. I’d never met Sells in person but have heard several times that he’s a big guy. Before I could ask for “Sellsfish”, I was greeted by a LARGE young man and figured this must be the guy. I explained who I was and was then taken on a full tour of the store, all while Sells continued to simultaneously greet and assist customers coming in the door. He supplied me with a container of b-liner roe, which he insisted is even tastier than the shad roe I was seeking. He even had one of his sons clean several more of the snapper while I was there to ensure I had plenty of the roe to take to my neighbor. I was truly humbled by his generosity and bought some swordfish and YFT fillets in hopes of showing him my appreciation, to which he discounted the price and scolded me for complaining about the price reduction!
In summary, Paul “Sellsfish” Godbout is as advertised. I’ve read many posts on here about how good of a person he is and now, I can truly attest for myself. Great people, great store. Thanks again, Sells, and you’ll be seeing me again real soon.

Let me add my thanks to Paul and his crew as well for helping me out. And I agree about his store, it was spotless and his guys were fantastic.

Bart have you posted on here somewhere about your maiden voyage ?
Yes, it’s on the post about my maiden voyage in the “Fishing Discussion” section. On that note, Sells also offered to ride along and help me get familiar with the local waters. Good stuff…

Paul is a good guy and takes GREAT care of the fishing community. I have never had a bad experience getting anything from Paul or the others that work there.
Going to Church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.
You are the offspring of 5 monkeys having But Secs with a retarded fish squirrel. CONGRADULATION!!!
Sell’s you take any vegetables for trade on fish? Not that I have any thing but garlic left.
I still think you need to cook a bit of your fair for sampling. To heck with the cooked product messing up the smell of the fresh product. I remember a year or so ago someone talking trash about the smell. Sells, you store smelled as fresh and clean as I’ve ever smelled in a sea food market.
Marine… pffft… I had A/C in the air force. [:0] I’ll stop their. Thank God for all our Armed Forces.
Black Bart, I know your neighbor will be more than happy with your generosity. Hope you enjoy the swordfish! That’s some good stuff!
