Thanks

I’ve been lurkin’ around here for awhile, having made a slow transition from freshwater bass boat to saltwater kayak. I usually fish the Murrells Inlet area, and my kayak fishing has been pretty well limited to draggin’ mud minnows for flounder. It’s made for some good eating, but not exactly exciting stuff. After reading all I could stand, I finally broke down and bought some tackle, and I’ve had a couple weeks of serious fun with redfish and trout. I had caught a few of each from boats, but these have been the first for both from a kayak. Several of the reds have made the slot (released) and today I wandered into a school of small reds that kept me busy for about an hour. Nothing that the old pro’s would write home about, but for a novice, it’s been a treat. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for all the great advice and tid-bits that float around this forum, keep 'em coming. I’ll wander back into the background, but wanted to let y’all know you’ve made an old freshwater fisherman awfully happy.

good to hear your having fun! dont wander into the background come on in and get involved. what kind of yak you paddlin

Patrick - thanks for the welcome. I’m peddling more than paddling - I’ve got a Hobie Mirage Outback. It’s a good fishing platform with lots of space, and pretty much hands-free unless the water gets real skinny. Would not have wanted to be on the water in anything this morning… it got nasty up this way.
