Took my sisters boyfriend out for the day to catch his first reds. Bite was great. About 40 reds each and maybe 20 trout. One spot we were at there was a school of trout to the right and a school of reds to the left. If the trout didn’t get that shrimp, by the time it drifted down the red was right there. He did get some Go Pro footage, makes me want one even more now. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-6zj1-5xe3w&feature=youtu.be
The rest of the weekend was just as good. Friday 30 reds, 12 trout and Saturday 2 hours 15 reds 3 trout. Caught on a mix of live shrimp, TT,Zmann. They would not touch mud minnows for some reason, switched back to shrimp and they nailed em.
And another person is now hooked on fishing. Good job.

Oh we have both been hooked for years. He is a great fisherman but mostly freshwater. Most of his fishing has shut down for the year so he hunts but when he does fish he tears up some pike, musky, catfish, etc. I’d say he is more hard core than most people I know. Bait freezer in the garage, 20+ rods. He also bow hunts for carp cause alot of our ponds and lakes up in PA have been taken over and have wiped out all other species. Went one night with him and it was a exciting experience. I habe turned him on to Abu Garcia, he loves his 6500 so much he’s looking at getting another and a 7000i I think he will be planning more holidays down south though.
Too bad it was too late to put him on some bull reds
Check out some of his other videos, I want a Go Pro now. Need to sell this stupid PS4 my wife got my early for Xmas
There is something different about catching that first red. Put him on some bulls next year he’ll go nuts.

Dear OV…That’s gettin’ it done. The healthy fish going back in the creek was the best part of the video. I remember the days when every one of them would have been put on a stringer without a thought or regret. Classy fishing has replaced meat fishing, and I’m proud of you guys for supporting it so well.

Hey OV, what river were you fishing? That’s awesome to have two schools of different species side by side to choose from. Solid days of fishing right there!

Only keep what we could eat fresh, no need to pack a freezer when they are there all year round. It was ICW north of the harbor, that’s all I will say. I was a little hesitant about posting video, but it’s not a secret spot either. If others can enjoy a little as well thats cool with me. Plus it keeps me looking for new spots if one is occupied, plenty of em out there. Was able to do my first sight fishing for reds today that way. Found a school of 30 or so. Casted right in front and it was on. So much fun.
