That far up?

Our shrimping season hasn’t started yet as we are still trying to fill 2 gator tags. Judging by the reports, we aren’t missing much.

Went out for a hunt last night and the shrimp were jumping so thick I could have coolered without bait in less than an hour. Unfortunately we had no cast net on board.

My question - we were so far up the Ashley river, what does that mean for the shrimp? Have we not had enough rain to push them into the harbor yet? They were still in Summerville!

what size to them? with the decent rain in the last couple of days maybe the shrimp run is fixing to drive them towards the ocean…
of course you don’t have a net when you see them like that!

I’d say mostly med, but we saw a few bruisers mixed in. Definitely taking a net with us tonight!

the rain might flush them out into the harbor - i am going tonight with hope
