I watched this eco-horror movie last night called “The Bay”. It supposedly takes place in a small town on the Chesapeake Bay. The towns people get “infected” by a marine organism during a July 4 celebration and it kills most of the people. The marine scientists in the movie are studying the copepods in Striped Bass and other fish and trying to find a correlation with the run-off from chicken manure and all the steroids in chicken feed and dead zones being discovered in the bay. Basically the copepods mutate and start infecting humans and they wander around like zombies until the copepods eventually eat there way out of the humans from the inside…lol. Being a striped bass junkie, I had to see it…lol. I noticed one scene in the movie where a charter boat is fishing in the bay and they catch a football shaped hybrid Striped Bass…lol When the movie was over I was surprised to see that it was actually filmed in Georgetown SC and several SC DNR people are listed in the credits…
