The Charleston Bump

Was reading an interesting article about how the CB deflects the northern flow of the stream creating a series of nutrient rich eddies that flow in a clockwise pattern. I believe the CB is 80-100 miles SE of CHS. I don’t really hear much about people fishing that area, seems like a really long ride unless doing an overnight.
Curious to hear any stories out there about the CB.

I know that it is or at least was a hotspot for commercial swordfishing.

You don’t here much about it because not many people do it. It’s one thing thing to run 40-50 miles out and fish. It’s a whole different ballgame being 100+ miles from shore. A lot can go wrong and you are very alone. I don’t recommend it with out a lot of thought and preparation. It’s not your typical fishing trip for most folks.

I’ve heard great pelagic and deep dropping.
