Up rivers on freelines.

Went back this afternoon since I still had bait left and not a bite, only on the water a couple of hours though.

Most of the fish we caught on Sat were right up next to the bank but we did hook a “mogan” in deeper water but he dove straight under the boat and rubbed the line on the prop which ain’t good:frowning_face::frowning_face:

Lots of good fish being caught up around Coneross area as well as up 6 & 20 and 3 & 20 creeks

thanks. may head out soon. i like tugaloo better so will probably head that way.

Tried the Coneross area today from about 10-2…caught a nice largemouth right away about 1/4mile from the ramp…trolled all over that area for the rest of the afternoon…TONS of bait, and good marks on the fish finder…no more bites…several hits, just to get me excited, but no fish.

Tried Tugaloo last week twice, during the cold snap…proved NADA again…I need to learn better techniques!!! Or get back to work in Norfolk, having great catches off Cape Henry and VA beach.

Pressure change!!!

These fish are very finicky with a barometric pressure change, or at least that is all I can attribute it to. Sat we still had the cold front in place and the fish were biting while it changed. Sunday was a nice day but from my experience when we have a drastic weather change it will cause them to shut down for a day or so.

If we can get normal cool/cold weather for a couple of weeks straight they would really be on fire, water temp is 51.8 pretty much everywhere I fished these two days.

I would be that if you hit the water Wed it would be a good day to be on the water

Also anytime we get a light snow or sleet it really makes them feed also.

Good luck and I will get to fish a couple of more times this month before my office gets slammed(Income Tax Business) and then I will not hit the water much until mid March other than skipping Church on Sunday am (do not like to do that but sometimes I need a break)

I prefer the Tugaloo section also but the Seneca and 6/20 & 3/20 are only a couple of miles from my house and I get lazy sometimes plus $3 gal gas:frowning_face:

TPRICE,

I know what you mean about choosing the easiest route. Family has lakehouse in Fairplay but no bait down there so you have to drive up then drive back in the am.

You been out lately? What you think about this weather coming…do they really bite good enough to brave the ice?

I guess this cold is good for the stripers? I was ready to go chase some reds but not during this cold snap.
