The fourth on the fly....weekend pictures.

Debated all day today about fishing the flood tide on July 4th. Finally about 5pm, the wife was wanting to go shopping and so I said have fun and I went and put the rod in the boat and headed off to fight the yahoos at the ramp. Surprisingly, not too many people at Limehouse today. Well actually there was a lot but I guess I was there at the right time. Put in and was driving the boat away from the dock in less than five minutes. Thats rare on a holiday.

As I put in the water, the sky fell out for about ten minutes straight. I hid under the bridge until it was clear and then headed off to my spot. Reds were happy this afternoon as the water slowly filled the Marsh grass. Caught two nice fish today. 29 and 28 inches. As promised, I named the first fish “Bobbie D!” First fish with the new trolling motor and OTF bonus. Threw at easily six other fish and probably saw 10 others that I never got a shot at. Wind was tough at times, but about 8 slicked out well and I could see fish everywhere.

Back to the ramp by 9 as the fireworks were starting all around me up and down the river. Great short trip. Man, its nice to be so close to the water now.

Hope everyone had a fun and safe fourth.

Fished Saturday as well and the ramp wasn’t near as nice to me. Took thirty minutes to get in the water…I’ve lived in Charleston my whole life, I should have known better. Anyways, a few pictures from this weekend.

Enjoy.

“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”

Glad you were able to escape the wind, and sounds like a good quick trip!..was rough yesterday morning on the Ashley. Wind blowing a solid 15-20 opposite the current is not my idea of fun in a john boat. On a side note, GREAT looking pics on your website!

Nice pics. And btw…that is my favorite book. Speaks a lot about life…like how sometimes we are convinced we want a certain thing and then when we get it it’s not all it was meant to be and we are disappointed and sad. Also about friendship…true friendship…and respect for our elders.

Love that book. Would love to have old copy of it

But really though. 23, your pictures are iconic and im awestruck everytime i see them. You should seriously give thought to making a pict book of charleston with your collection. Plus itd give ya an excuse to fish:smiley:

That picture of the flybridge is pretty funny. Loaded down, people sporting the orange PFD’s with Johnny Law right behind them.
