The going price for a decent galvanized trailer

Good evening, All,

I was wondering what I should expect to pay for a decent galvanized trailer for a 14’ kayak.

Thanks in advance.

Personally I would look for a decent used jonboat trailer and rig it to carry kayaks. I bought one a few years ago for $150, put new tires/rims on it, new bearings and converted it to carry up to 4 yaks.

Here are a couple of shots of mine. There are 100’s of ways to go in designing a kayak trailer.

Oh, and it really doesn’t need to be galvanized unless you plan on actually putting it into the water.
“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?

Get a used jet ski trailer, I got mine for 150. They get listed on craigslist at like 150 all the time, some one buys them and sells them for 350 or 450. I got mine from a guy who had 2 the next day the other one had a new ad for 350 were some one was trying to re-sell it. I can sling my trailer around the yard with one arm with the same effort as caring a half full 5 gallon bucket. I had a Jon boat trailer and it was a lot harder to move, but I did like having the extra length and size at some launches but it was a nuisance at other places.

I wouldn’t pay over $150 for an old trailer…they are out there - just got to keep an eye on Craigslist for a deal.
