The grass 7-17

Me and buddy set out to the grass for a quick run at em. I was off and it was his birthday. Hit the flats early and waited for the incoming tide. Wasn’t really a favorable tide to chase them but (**() sitting at the house. The mid afternoon high tide definitely had them lethargic and finicky. Saw a good amount of fish but most weren’t in the mood to chew on what we were throwing…

Most of the fish were within 100yds or so of the feeder creeks in the deeper, cooler water so we had a very small window to get on em before the water got too deep

Did manage to find several studs that had ventured too far away from the confines of the deeper/cooler water. The few fish that chewed were studs and did the gig right

Managed to get back to the boat and off the water before that brutal system hosed us…that was a frog strangling rain!! Thank god for smart phones and radar…

nice reds

Doesn’t get any better than that!

Spartina grass sparse and shorter than your knee, is the rule of thumb. Always walk a flat with a buddy or at low tide first.. ask me how i know!

Nice Job!

Zman shrimp

Yo Zuri doesn’t make a soft plastic shrimp and no self respecting fisherman would be caught dead using a Gulp (and yes, that was supposed to be a joke).

Nice fish!
