The Hunt for Stono Trout

Let at 8am and went to several spots looking for reds.First spot we saw a small school pushing so we threw some plastic at them. They ran into some real bad structure and there was no place to lay a plastic without losing it.We checked the area and I felt they went deep.We threw for 10 minutes and decided to move on.Water temp was 65.8 in that spot.Water was getting high so we moved on.Hit several spots with no action so I decided to go to a spot I fished years ago.Smart move as the water was clear to three feet and 67 degrees.First cast and Eric hooked up.I set the power pole and all hell broke loose with 3 double hook ups.We caught 40 in about 3 hours of fishing.I used Morning glory.Chicken Boy(Yellow red forgot the other one???.)OPening nigh.Fish were all in the 13 to 18 inch range.Eric caught a solid 18 incher on the Chicken Boy.Good day with a real good fisherman. All fish were fat and eggy. All released to be caught later.Males spermed up the boat LOL.

Poor mans gel coat! #troutjiz Nice report glad to hear they will get to spawn! I hope to get out this weekend and have a similar day. One can hope!

Nice report! I have yet to have a day like this in the stono but my day is coming. I was thinking about fishing Friday but this wind sucks!
