the new king club!!!!!

It is my goal for the tourney guys to also join the club and spread there knowledge of the sport to novice anglers. I myself have fished SKA events and been a member of the SKA since its inception and been king fishing since I could walk on my dads boats. In my book any one with a boat seasoned angler and tourney pro to weekend warrior is more than welcome to join the club and pick up some great info. The old saying goes the day you stop learning is the day you die. So join the club and learn something or spread some knowledge. Just let me know guys if this appeals to you. I know the seasoned SKA teams are tight lipped such as myself but all I am asking of you is to spread the sport which we all love.

I have won 4 king tourns. Best being Fishing For Miracles a couple years ago.
My wife was the captain and I was the fisherman. We never have anyone other than my wife and/or son on board. 30’ Pursuit T-300’s when they are running.
Due to my work schedule I am out of town often and only get to fish 2 tourn’s a year.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge and learning from others in all my activities, from hunting to fishing. Shared knowledge helps all.
I think it is admirable what you guys are trying to do and should include anyone that wants to join. If you have 100 members, no more than 30 will ever show up for a meeting.
Count me in if you want me, but the odds are I’ll miss meetings, not for lack of interest, but because I’ll be MIA. For instance, I am going to the UK from 6/30-July 10. And Africa from July 15 -30

thats what I am after give me a PM and we can hook up and talk.

Mac Daddy, I realize you are passionate about fishing and that is great, but alot of us “SKA” fisherman are not pros like you seem to think. Yes, I have a big boat, but I can assure you that I probably get out as much as you or less due to my work load. I would not mind being a part of a kingfishing club if it is open minded to the skill levels of those involved. It didn’t seem like it was when I posted some info and was chastized for it about catching kings close.

Good luck and if I can help or maybe learn more about kingfishing I am game.:sunglasses:

Good post, team old school, I too am old school, back to Drone spoons, Cisco kids, Split Tail Mullet, and Sea Witches. I’m the “old fogie” in the group, so communicating with these young guys is difficult for me, maybe you too. A 352 Wellcraft sounds like a sweet ride, scarab or cabin? I’d be honored to fish with you someday, but on the club just keep watching the posts for info. PM if you like, lol and tight lines…

For what it is worth at this point there is no girlish infighting in the king club first and foremost. I am the new president of the club and I chose know to go in another directions with the club from what I may have said earlier. I am looking for as I said in this post earlier before the seasoned SKA crews to the weekend warrior and angler in-between to join and learn. Don’t let the statements on this issue deter that and you possibly joining. Mac daddy the statements I made towards you might have come off strong which I apologize for. They are only my thoughts which I stated hope you are doing well and can’t wait to read one of your fishing reports. I have never nor will I ever have any ill will towards you.

OK, gdaddy, apology accepted; new day, new start to the club.

Well, Whistling Dixie, the live bait charge of the 80’s told us by a group of king guys I can’t reer to anymore that live bait is the only way, and for big fish I agree with them; however, I prefer quantity rather than quality so I use Cigars. Cudos to you for using the now termed “old school” lures…Also, in the 80’s charter boats started using cigars for kings, and it still continues today, at least in nc, maybe not in sc…

Yes we use live bait and enjoy it. Our name came from fishing with my father on charter boats when I was still in a crib riding in the cabin. My parents had to take me because they couldn’t get a babysitter half the time.

We still use alot of the same techniques that my father used. Going out in the morning for spanish and then kings with my father in the AM since my son is in PA. with his other grandparents.

Boys, I AM COMING. Will be down July 11-18 and right now I think I am calling a tx on Sunday 7/12, weather permitting of course for those of us in small boats.

Have not been able to make it down due to work schedules but I have that week blocked off and see no reason we can not have a tx that week and I figure Sunday would be the best day.

WHAT DO YOU SAY

Yes sir we are in on the JIYC tourney they put on a good tourney every year great group of people. This should be a good one to because last year was canceled weather. Couldn’T fish Tailwalker family wedding sucked to miss that one. I plan to fish all the other SKA events and other local tourneys the rest of the year baring any other unforeseen events. See y’all there.

Gdaddyfishing,
What is the name of your boat you will be fishing on.Trying to put together a crew for JIYC,but plan on fishing Sullivans and Miracles with the regular team members.Last year was really hard on us losing a lower unit at Tailwalker and gas 5.00 then the economy in the industry that I am in but things are getting a little better so maybe can get back in the game and see all our friends and teams that we have met through the years on the trail.Good luck to everyone fishing
