Went out early saturday morning. Wind was brutal around 20 mph. Couldn’t shrimp in the big water, so ventured up into one of the creeks to get some protection from the wind… Wasn’t the best setup, but managed about 6 qts of large shrimp in about 2.5 hours. You could hear the wind howling through the cast net when I would stretch it out for tangles. Was more work than it was worth.
Did some scouting in an unfamiliar area and decide to give inshore fishing a try for a bit. Tried for about 30 minutes, but was a pain to position the boat for casting. Even casting was at the mercy of the wind. Ended up catching a keeper trout and missed a couple more bites. Probably would have been easier if I had installed the trolling motor, but still in the garage. Oh well, probably my last trip for several weeks. Wife is tentatively scheduled for induction of the new little boy on Thursday.
