Got a super late start this morning when the port engine would not turn over. After troubleshooting, ended up being a corroded ground cable between the battery and the engine. Did some jimmy rigging to get it to work, and made it offshore, but it started to act up on the way back in…
That being said, we fished from about 8:30 to 12:30 and caught 15 dolphin. The largest one was 29lb-5oz on the digital scale. It was a true “internet 40 PLUS”. Had a couple more nice gaffers in their 20’s as well. The wind was honking today and we wanted to do some diving. The rat bastard weather man said that it would be nicer inshore. He must have been doing sheets of acid, because when we left the deep at 12:30, we found it rainy, windy and overcast the whole way back. Decided to abort mission on the diving since the sun was nowhere to be found and made it back to the jetties at 3:00. Oh well, short day but we got to murder some green fish. Glad we didn’t stay any longer though. Wind sucks.
15 phins in 3 hours must kept you busy. What kind of water depth and temp.
Forgot to mention, 2 of our dolphin came off of Osama Bin Laden’s body which we found floating in some scattered weed.
