Nothing too exciting. Went bottom fishing. Legendary Black Bart was on board as well. Was a bit choppy on the way out and the heat reminded me of why I normally don’t fish this time of year. Got us plenty of vermillion, triggers, red porgy, and more ring tail porgies than you could ever imagine. Also got 2 back to back 40-45lb AJs, which is always a good chiropractic experience. Think I will wait until this heat wave is over before I head out again. Never saw another boat offshore, but saw a capsized vessel inside the Jetties.

I feel the same way. Too dang hot to fish. I’ll wait another month or 2. Not baking my brains in this heat to fight AJs.

Nice. I’ve only made three bottom trips this summer and I felt like I was in a sauna the whole time. Thanks for posting, I was wondering if anyone went that day.

Didnt have any run ins with groupahs did ya?! Go deep enough for them or try live baits? I’m looking to find some in the next couple of weeks provided the weather is good. Glad somebody got out there. My freezer’s looking pretty bare, its time to go

Negative. Was a short day. Didn't really have time and conditions weren't really that good for diving. I'll probably wait until October before I put the wetsuit back on.
