Once again, got a super late start… When I left the house my mother-in-law was sitting on our porch with the baby. Out of habit, I locked the door. Halfway to our destination, I get the call. Turned around to unlock the door. Oh well, one day I will get there on time…
Pulled up to the landing and a guy was just pulling his boat out with a nice cooler of shrimp. That is the first sign you are late. No poles on the boat and said he was deep holing. Anyway, I couldn’t resist giving it a shot. After some looking around and messing with the new Garmin (maybe I should read the manual), we finally started marking some skrimps. It was a learning process. Rope was a little short and after some coaching we started staying over the net until it hit bottom. Ended up with about a gallon of shrimp, but all real big. We really only got to hit them for about an hour before dark came and we quit marking them. We had just started to get the hang of it too!!! By the time they had disappeared, we decided just to call it a night instead of setting out the poles, so we cut our time short, but got back early.
Ready for a re-match… Cooler full coming next time… The shrimp can no longer hide…
Thought that was you…you drove right between me and another boat as we were throwing. Guessing you were trying to figure out what they looked like on your sounder!

Could have been. I think I only went between two boats once, but was careful to make sure that nets were down. Sorry about that...
I was in the gray tidewater with the chick throwing the net. Its all good next time I will say hello.
Ah yeah! For sure. How can I forget a beautiful girl throwing a net? Lucky guy! How did you guys do? And yes, to answer your first question, I'm not used to these electronics, so I was trying to get my brain calibrated on what a shrimp mark should look like. We eventually figured it out... I've got a garmin 74DV and was using the DownVu sonar which wasn't picking up anything other than solid structure. Switched over to traditional sonar and started seeing them. Give us a holler next time.
