You guys who know me know that Adam is a regular on my boat and he was a dead bait/ live bait fisherman until I converted him.
Well, he makes fun of me now for throwing a popping cork with a DOA shrimp on it. He’s a true artificial bait fisherman now. There’s no turning back.
We had an epic battle last Thursday to see who out fished who…and the winner might surprise you. Lots of fun.
Also, most of you guys know Lucky Larry 54 from this forum. He showed me how to refurbish an old St Croix cork handle on an old rod of mine. I made an instructional video. It probably should have been posted in a different thread but it’ll get more views here for people it might help.

On the live/bait fishing vs artie… well there’s no best way, man. I’ve out fished each way with the other way, any given day. Another thing is on my boat, half the battle is finding the fish. The other half is finding the bait! I enjoy the process of finding bait, and then catching fish with it. Some days I don’t even take the landing net in the boat though. Right now, I’m about to start on a top water only endeavor until I get me a damm spottail on top! No wrong way to fish, and if you can’t fish in all ways then you still have a lot of work to do. Me? I have a TON of work to still do, and I’m having a blast doing it!
