You boys and girs have a hoot. Think I’m gonna go up the little river and enjoy the show…kinda like the dam ramp on a weekend in the summer:wink:

Loon, the first minute or so of this will give you a pretty good idea on what to expect to see up that way.

I wonder what the logic is of closing registration 3 months before the tx? Are they actually going to turn boats away that are willing to put up $500 if they haven’t reached the max number of entries they are looking for? Thought I seen that number is 200.

Yes they will turn them away… it’s a timing/planning thing I believe. They have to know what kind of numbers they are looking at when planning for space at dreher, feeding people at the captains meeting, knowing payouts down to the penny. Organizing flights (blast off groups)

Not too mention people not wanting to fish because a cold front came in or they couldn’t find fish the week before. But most importantly I believe it’s for planning.

By the way they are over 100 boats total between the 2 classes now registered. Think the split is somewhere in the neighborhood of an 80/20 split between pro/open classes.

Gonna be funny to watch all the boats fight for real estate in the creeks trolling boards and then see the guy in a jon boat fishing cut bait bring home the big prize.

We’re the No.: 4 boat in the 1st flight … We won’t have any idea where we’re going to fish until probably a week or two before the TX … Could be one of the Saluda rivers or Crystal or Hollow or Beards … or anywhere in between … LOL

I’m just kidding, I don’t fish Murray much but I’ll be down there in November/December…

I’m counting on all the MSC teams. It’s our home lake and I feel sure that they will represent the club well.

-The size of a fish is directly proportional to the time between when it’s lost and the story is told. - Me
-What’s the best eating fish, you ask? I’ve found that for a lot people, its the ones that they happen to be able to catch, clean, and cook. - My Dad
-Until you have loved a dog, part of your soul remains unawakened. Anatole France (paraphrased)
-RIP my “Puppy Dog” 10/15/2004 - 1/14/2013. I’ll never forget him. What a special friend he was.
-Team Gonna Fish

I agree… Great group of people and great fisherman that don’t mind teaching others.

Gonna be super tough though … 170 boats registered … 98 Pro teams and 72 Open teams … Assume an average of 8 lines per boat that’s 1,360 baits in the water at any given time between the hours of 8 - 2 on Saturday (576 less in the hour before and after) …

Lake Murray Stripers will pass that day down from generation to generation and call it “The Great Lake Murray Culling” the day hooks fell out of the “sky” and snatched up all of their kindred …

Well, in theory anyways since they can’t regularly breed in the lake proper …

Have ZERO expectations for the MSC TX two weeks later … Bet that TX gets won with an 8 pounder …

Let’s drag some blueback around by the nostrils already!!!
