At 3-4 hours into an outgoing tide, a friend and I located some trout in the hotzone of 10-12 foot of water sitting in the opening of a large creek entrance. We fished Zman paddletails, the fish weren’t picky as color didn’t matter, we fished two separate colors and caught fish with every other cast. Some fish were striking as the bait hit the water - aggressive hits. The strikes were best on a medium paced constant retrieve w/a slight twitch every so often. They would not hit the slow retrieve so the water temp is perfect for the trout right now. Most strikes came at the 6-8’ depth. Can’t tell you how many we landed but the average size was 18" with a few smalls (14-15) and a few close to 20.
Now that’s a day! What temp/area?.
Nice report!
Sniper, area: iop. Temp: cant recall exactly but it had just dropped a few degrees w the cold front that came through. Will be sure to remember for next time.
