If you want the absolute best plastic trout bait this is it. Don’t kill many trout but had guests in town and kept 6 of many. They seem to be larger, also. Check out “fishingwithbob.com”. Got re-introduced to the trout trick a couple of weeks ago and I swear I think it outfishes live bait.

I have to agree with your assesment… that trout trick is a sweet bait that I’ve caught large fish with than even live bait, especially reds.
My guess is, we keep it moving more than most folks keep live bait moving, and they are longer than the finger mullet/shrimp/muds that most of us use for bait, and thus larger fish are less likely to ignore it.
You have to admit, the purple color is odd. But apparently that’s part of the trick.
The trout where I fish have definatly gotten larger. I have had success with the tricks in the past but they have been attacking the grubs if you can find the right color so I haven’t switched back.
