The weather man said it was gonna be nasty and I am glad we ignored him Me, Timbuck2, Dolphin Dave and Lost@sea all met up and hit the ville… WAAAYYYY too much water for fly fishin but Dolphin and Timbuck did VERY well with a few beautiful pigs in the grass… I tried shrimp and mullet in all the usual spots and nada… not even the crabs wanted my bait… I started making my way back to the landing and hit all my usual spots because the water was lower and I did see 4 tails… Got a shot a 3 of them, (one played Casper on me, saw the tail then Poof… no fish, no movement, just GONE  …) got the fly out… right in line… nutin… over and over until they saw me and spooked… It’s kinda hard to fly fish as fish are swimming towards you. At one point I was on my knees leaning as far forward as I could, I was almost laying down trying to stay out of thier view but I was still busted     I did have a new rod to check out and it did not dissapoint. The March Brown Hidden Water 7-peice 10wt was AWESOME… I was throwing straight into the howling wind no problem… Smooth casting and a little stiffer than the other rods I have used but overall I was very impressed with it’s action. I was a little skeptical about a 7-peice rod but true to March Brown standards it still feels like a 2 peice rod. While the rod got quite a workout today. I still have to give it the rest of the work out and stick a redfish on it
All in all TB2 had 3 nice reds, DD had at least 3 L@Sea dissapeared and I didn’t see him again but I hear he did pretty darn well himslef
Me? I was waving the skunk flag all the way home but it was still better than sitting in the office working all day
