Ain’t no sinsemilla, but looks kinda neat.
Where on earth did you get fresh hops?
I’ve fantasized about planting the backyard with hops for a while now, but they wouldn’t get anywhere near enough sun.
Planning on brewing with them?

Hell yes I am, they’re going in my secondary fermenter on Saturday. Got a pale ale going in the primary right now with simcoe (60min)/nugget(20min)/amarillo(15min)/pearle(10)/cascade(end of boil)
still getting the hang of it (on my 9th 5gal. batch now) but i’m hooked. capntang do you brew?
I can make a tasty hoppy 6.5% abv pale ale for about the same price as miller lite. Bonzo i’d be happy to share a bottle if you’d like to give it a try.

</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”>I do, but I haven’t done a batch in about a year - hadn’t really had the time. When the brew shop at Coast shut down, I lost my local source of ingredients as well.
Jumped head first into it a few years back and got a full kegging setup with about a dozen retired Pepsi kegs and even started to construct a 10-gallon batch brew-station for all-grain brewing. I’m really wanting to start back. It really was some of the best beer I’ve ever had.
Never brewed with fresh hopes, though. All I ever got to use were the pellets.
I used to brew but when I moved here I could not find any home brew shops for supplies. Are there any around? Also, anybody know what the brewery off 526 in Mt. P. is about? Doesn’t look like a good locaton for a brew-pub.

Coast had a homebrew shop for a while, but they stopped selling supplies a while ago. There aren’t any local shops. Bet-Mar in Columbia is probably the closest. There are plenty of mail order shops, though.
The place in Mt. Pleasant by 526 is Westbrook Brewing Company. They’re not operating yet.
I’ve been brewing for about 15 years. I would love some fresh simcoe hops if your interested in a trade. I just brewed an IPA with all simcoe hops. SweetWater’s IPA is made with all Simcoe. Here’s a picture of my kegerator I made. I’ve got 5 of my beers on tap right now: an IPA, Brown Ale, Oktoberfest, Summer Ale, and a Coffee Stout.

So the next get-together is at your place in front of that kegerator, right?

Simcoe’s so hot right now I guess, I have a batch of super-simcoe pale ale that’s hit 4 weeks bottle conditioning… today. Time to drink 'em.

SeaLevelPete- Are you the Peter that owns the place?
I met you at your grand opening. How is business?
I brewed a IIPA several weeks ago…
2oz Cascade, 2oz Magnum 90mins, 1oz Simcoe 45mins, 1oz Columbus, 30 mins, 2oz Centennial and 1 oz Simcoe at flameout and dry hopped with Columbus, Centennial, and Simcoe.
7.6% and very drinkable!

Scott,
Yes, I am one in the same. I just waited to reply until I got setup as a cf.com as an advertiser. Did not want to be a spammer. My banner is on the fishing discussion page. If you haven’t been in since the grand opening, come on back and see the place. I have well over 3-4 times the inventory, White Labs yeast, over 45 varieties of hops - including whole hops. Many more grains and kegging maintenance equipement.
You IIPA sounds fantastic! That is one serious hop schedule!
