Left Shem Creek at 5 in a heavy fog. The run out was decent except for some challenging “confused” boat traffic just out side of the jetties. Put lines in 200’ just north of Royal Terrace and worked our way out to 500’and back into 160’. Very slow, flyers scattered here and there, weed scattered here and there, no pronounced temp break or rips. Everyone just seemed to be meandering about hoping to stumble onto a fish. We had a great group and a great time enjoying the ocean. Ended up with 2 gaffers, 3 slingers and accidentally released 3 decent fish boat side. Just one of those days.
Sounds like a better day fish-wise than most others.
Just think of it as paying your dues. Next time, you’ll hit Carolina GOLD!

Hey gaff addict, We were in the same area and saw you pass us up. Not a bad day for most of us. the weather was perfect. The rip and break was in 140-160. We got 4 with one mistery fish that broke the hook. And one pissed dolphin that jumped at least 15 time before releasing him self from the hook. Beats the heck out of work!

we will be a nation gone under.” - Ronald Reagan
Enjoyed the trip fellas. The phin that took the extra run beside the boat and spit the hook in the middle of his 4’ arial show…that sucked. He would have definitely been a significant contributor to the meat count.
Let’s do it again, soon.
