Normally, coming from Columbia, I just do, or do not. However, I am getting older and taking the pounding when the weatherman lies has gotten old. Still, middle son’s 33rd, so maybe…love to troll, like to bottom fish, last couple times my luck has been no bueno…used to do well (go figure).
Thoughts on weather and/ or fishing forecast welcome.
Thanks all. NWFS is showing 10-15 Knots, which means those 2’s will have a bunch of 4’s scattered in and close together, so I will probably staying home and do a low country boil!
We are going tomorrow. Looks like it may kick up in the afternoon, hopefully later. Just checked Rutgers SST. According to the map the Gulf Stream moved almost 60 miles west in four hours. Ha. Hopefully the second one is the one that is correct.
We had counted Tomorrow out but as we were sitting on the beach this morning it looked pretty nice out there as far as they eye could see. We watched a boat about 25’ head out and disappear riding smooth. Tomorrow forecast shows a little better than today. Who knows. Planning on heading out 10-20 miles and hit some bottoms close early and head back in around lunch.
I also spent today on the beach watching how nice it was out this AM. We are going to head out early and plan to be back in before lunch. We will be leaving out of Edisto.
It was an ok ride out but the seas kicked up earlier than expected. We had planned to head in at noon but we were back in the harbor by noon. Got a few kings for the smoker and some porgies for dinner.
We left the dock about 6:30 and rode out the the Edisto 60 30-35 mph no problem. 2’-3’ at 8 or so but we were able to ride on top. Fished till 11:30 and headed back in before the wind got up. The ride back in was just about the same. Kinda wished we would have gotten up earlier and ran out a farther out but the building wind forecast made us stay close. Still managed 2 gallons of mixed bottom fillets.
