Went Friday, fishing about 10AM Plans were to fish rising tide and falling tide but wind, wind, wind. We tried dragging a 50’ rope with weights to try to hold boat in position. No luck with that. First location, I heard my partner sound off and he had fish on, a trout. We always think it is bad luck to catch a fish on the first cast, we laughed. On my second cast, I caught a trout. Then the bite was on.
We caught 27 trout (6 or 8 that measured) Bite was aggressive. All fish released. Fish caught on Chatter bait and Trout eye jig tipped with swimming mullet, Trout trick and electric chicken. Turned out to be a great day but WINDY.

Good deal! Sometimes if I actually think about it I will toss a first cast out to the side and reel it in quickly just to get it out of the way…lol…I have had days where we keep catching after a fish on the first cast but more days where we/I never catch another that day after a fish on the first cast…so it’s tough to say…thanks for the report either way

Sounds like you know what you’re doing! I need someone to show me the ropes around these channels in the West Ashley region. A lot different from the freshwater fishing in the upstate that’s for sure.
