throttle cables

I recently had an issue with my starboard throttle where it locked up and researched and asked around and it seemed that i needed to replace the throttle cable so I did. Now it is not locked up but very hard, or tight, to push throttle forward but will go and yet very easy to pull throttle in reverse and back. Did I install wrong, did I not solve the original problem and or is there another one that I am overlooking. Any advice wouldbe appreciated. thanks in advance

Could be an issue with the control box binding up, or even with the shift system in the motor. I would think if you kinked or installed the cable wrong, it would be hard both ways.

disconnect cables from motor, and shift motor manually, and shift throttle, and see if it still binds, it will help you figure out where the problem is
