T-Star had an overnight private charter on 9/24. Allen was the captain. I was 2nd Captain. In the first few hours all 30 customers had there limit of large ver…“million” snappers. I was impressed with the size of them, some 3 and 4 lbers. Many yellow tail snapper were caught and a few large mangrove snapper were caught.
The king fish bite has been good from about 5am to 7am.
A customer fishing on the bow using a 3oz sinker on 50lb mono with 100lb leader landed a 40lb gag, taking the lead in the trident.
Congrats Allen for another good day of putting us on the fish.
You didn’t happen to write down anymore numbers on this trip did you? Hmmm? I wonder how you’re so lucrative on the bottom dwellers “Captain”?
Nothing but a “SMART-ELLIC”!
You should fish with him once, just once. I have on several occasions now, and it is my contention that if you think it is simply the “magic numbers” that catch fish, then you sir are sadly mistaken. It is quite funny really, because most of you guys calling him out don’t know the back story with Capt Rick, or at this point the story as it unfolds. Why is it so hard for you to believe he is a good fisherman in his own right, the real deal, and I am not referring to Rich either.
Trust me, and ask anyone who is clued up,it is not the numbers that put those fish in the box. If it were anyone with a maps unique and a hand full of star rods could join the ranks of charter captain.
By you (and many other mis-informed folks) staying in the dark and clinging to the assumptions that he has stolen “magic numbers” and that is the secret of his success is really quite LOL. Especially when these assumptions are dribbling down your chin during the wee hours of the morning.
Logga, look around the house when you finally get up this morning. I am sure your clue will turn up someplace, you obviously do not have one now. And another thing, that old green jealously hangs on you like a cheap suit.
I have many of these said “numbers,” and I can put them in a readable file for either of your chartplotters, Logga or Dod. How much would you be willing to pay? Keep in mind that all you have to have is the numbers… Just go there and anchor up. The fish don’t swim, they are tethered to the bottom with 15# test mono that CD fixed them up with as he has probably dove every “number” off Charleston by now.
The satellites will go down eventually, and we’ll have to use Loran Charlie again. I will convert people’s numbers from GPS to Loran C if you let me go there with a video camera and see what’s there.
I mean seriously… Do you think they’re any numbers somewhere that somebody else doesn’t already have? You act like they’re wrecks and people can own rights to them.
This is all assuming that P1 actually got numbers from somebody. You are right. I have given him numbers… those numbers usually didn’t have good fish on them- at least not when we looked at them. Sometimes they did. The same would be true if anybody else had given him numbers. I have asked about the Tstar numbers, and it isn’t even worth further discussion. Guess why.
Tstar doesn’t even use numbers! When you’re good, you’re good. When you’re out there daily, you don’t need to navigate to a number. Gimme a break.
Perhaps P1’s found a lot of what he fishes by being out there 2-3 times a week and watching the sounder at all times instead of trying to shotgun PBRs on the way in. Just a thought.
What he means by understanding the area is where the fish tend to be at different times of the year, and the way they feed depending on conditions. We all have our theories about that, and if you simply buy the numbers from me, be assured that all of that information is enbedded within them.
