Went out solo to try and catch a few for the grill this weekend. Put in at the dam about 8:30, started trolling and picked up 3 pretty quick before a lull for about an hour when I got #4.
Stopped for a bit to check out some humps to maybe baitfish next time out. Like Fogman said, humps in 60’ seemed to hold fish. They seemed to be a bit higher in the water column, but this was at about 10:30 PM and it seems to be like that lately after dark. Shipwreck, this was a 60’ hump in the lower lake.
After that I started trolling back toward the ramp. I picked up #5 about 11:15 and headed on in. All were caught from about 30’ - 50’ and had a good average size with only one short out of the 5.
Looks like I am going to have to start at night again all shorts again today this has happened 2 weekends in a row don’t know what is wrong not doing anything different than I did last year or this year in june
Gonna try some live bait tonight, but got them on the boat in case we get into a bunch of small fish. Putting out the lights for the first time this year.
