Hit the weather window yesterday for some sheepshead fishing and ran out of fiddlers in a hour. Did one cold quick dive and saw massive schools of big sheeps. Many over 10 pounds. Shot a few up to 25" long for dinner. Vis was only about 5-10’.
If the weather allows give the sheepshead a try at the closer Artificial reefs. The smaller fish are on top of the structure and the larger ones seem to be off to the sides. Bigger ones seemed to be well off the bottom too. I would keep my bait about 10’ off the bottom.

Yeah but they said they ran out of fiddlers. No fiddler necessary for spear gun.
We did Catch a bunch of small bsb but most of the bites were sheepshead. Keeping the bait well off the bottom would probably help.

I can remember coming down years ago and fishing with my buddy this time of year and wearing the sheepshead out on the reefs. Man I love some fresh sheepshead. It might be time to make that drive again. Than you for the good information.

Pretty much the same as inshore. As light a weight as will get you down with a short leader.
