Nothing exciting to report, water at GTH was 72.3, at the scarp it was 72.4. Weather man was WRONG and we got our butts kicked in 7 footers. Caught 4 albies and had 2 cutoffs. Came home at 15mph and all got whiplash. . Roughest seas I’ve ever been in. Did not see a single other boat, though a few turned around id bet, and we should have. Gener consensus was “It will lay down, lets go!” It got steadily worse. oStill, after moving away and living in Tennessee for a cpl years it was nice to hear a reel sing once again. Glad to be back moved in on salt again. Gonna give it at least a week, maybe 2 before I try aagain
I hope you weren’t in that 20’ Mako in that, if so I know that was a miserable ride back in. I’ll bet you were ready to kiss the ground once you finally made it back to the dock though.

looked at the buoy at 4 am and saw that the wind had shifted to the NE and increased from 2 to 8 in one hour. Sailflow nailed the forecast, while NOAA missed it entirely.

“Back home we got a taxidermy man. He gonna have a heart attack when he see what I brung him”
From the forecast I saw they missed it by a mile. Maybe it was just too rough for them I figured I needed to wait a week or two for the fish to show up in better force, but from reports you may be right. Besides, who can really wait that long? Lol
