Since noone posts fishing reports, I figured I would. I had a couple of buddies that wanted to fish, and I finally had an afternoon that I could sneak out for a while, so we loaded up and went down to the bridge and splashed the boat. We ran out to catch bait, but I grabbed the wrong net. 5/8 mesh doesn’t do well when trying to catch finger mullet. So, we ran back to the landing, and Derreck ran up to Platt’s to get a cast net since Johnny’s was sold out. Anyways, we finally found some nice 4-6" finger mullet, and it was time to fish. We deployed our lines and it was on! We lost 3 redfish due to one oyster bank and 2 operator errors. LOL Finally, we put a 16" flounder in the boat. Next it was a nice 25" redfish that gave Jimmy a good fight. Next, it was a chopper blue, then another over the slot red. Finally, about half way up the tide, we did some bumping on the mud flat, and we landed another flounder. This one at 18". Then we lost 2 reds in a row. I think it’s time to re-spool the old lucky rod, since we lost 2 fish due to raggedy a@# fishing line. Finally, right before we were about to head home, we put a 19" flounder in the boat. No trout today, but we did see shrimp jumping a couple of times up against the grass, so I am gonna say that a trout was the culprit, even thought it could have been a flounder or red. So, 3 nice flounder for dinner tonight, and some great memories with friends, and home before dark. All this happened within 3 hours, by the way. Good luck and be safe if y’all are out this weekend.
Nice to see a report. I still have not had a chance to get out.

You need to hit it Goob. Even with the dirty water, fish are biting if you know where to look.
Nice to see a report here. I am hopeing to head of cherry grove with the kayak tomorrow and try my look. Will post how it goes, but you have giving me some hope haha.
didnt make it out today, ended up having to work this morning. Hope to get a chance to sneak out one afternoon. Planning on fishing the southern end of cherry grove up williams creek. Popping cork with live mud minnows work? Gonna throw some flies as well.
We got back out for a couple of hours saturday am. Foul hooked a slot red, and put 2 flounder in the boat. The fish didn’t seem to bite Saturday AM very well at all. Maybe they will pick back up soon. Supposed to be a steamy 98 degrees on Sat, so y’all be careful if you get out.
