Thursday AM

Just checked the weather report and looks like a few days of rain. Ain’t been out in a while, so I’m going to put in before work in the am. Putting in at 7 and off the water by 9 if anyone wants to go. Would love to find some schooling fish, but otherwise will be jigging spoons.

If it helps any the fish in jakes have moved out. Back to pine, bomb side of spence, bomb and on up. The usual fall “hatchlings” have arrived. They are everywhere. Should be able to find some top water as long as the wind isn’t bad.

Nope! Only saw one fish break water and hooked it and lost it right before I left at about 8:15. That was it.

I did get a get a text from a friend guy striper fishing the same area in a Ranger boat that felt it necessary to inform me while I was at work that they were schooling all over shortly after I left though.

Don’t worry Tim, I got the same text. Think the words were something like “they are everywhere” “this can’t get any better” blah blah blah…lol…getting fishing texts like that while your at work stinks!!!

Heck. Looks like the rain has slowed and I got the boat with me at work. Probably make a pit stop by Goodwill on St Andrews and pick up a sweatshirt or light jacket and try again. Only had a t-shirt on this am and between the rain and wind it got a bit chilly.

Go for it, Tim. It had to be cold out there this morning with only a t-shirt and shorts. I’m planning on being in your friend’s spot tomorrow morning myself.

Well, the rain held off, but the wind never did let up. Eventually ran up on one school in the lower lake and picked up 3 21/22" fish and that was it.

Miserable weather, but lots of fun catching a few on top for the first time since spring.

Tim, your friend’s spot didn’t produce squat today. I’m gonna try something different tomorrow.
