How do you know I didn’t limit out in 1 hr, come back to the house, clean fish, shower and just waking up from my nap???
Then again…I could have had truck issues, not made it out and am typing this from my desk at work.

They really did a great job on that place with plenty of outdoor seating on the decks. We had a table right near the water and were there as the sun was setting and it was a great atmosphere.

Agreed about Liberty on the Lake. Pretty cool place. Like you said, the pub food is pretty reasonable considering it’s waterfront. Nice bars. Great she crab soup. The only downside is the parking. There isn’t nearly enough. Don’t know what they’re gonna do once the apts fill up. They need the free valet parking like they have downtown.

Put in at Dreher this morning. Had a so-so day. Downrods, freelines and artificials. Marked a lot of fish at little gap but they weren’t hungry. Got a nice 12 inch perch that tried to eat a 6 inch herrimg (little badass). Moved up to Crystal Lake. Again marked scattered fish managed one striper on a freeline. Barely 21 inch. Looked around and ended up back at little gap. Found a concentration just north of there. Caught several cookie cutter keepers all 21 inch, all on freelines. Also had several short bite misses on the downrods. Left them biting at 11am. All fish released except the perch. The way Fogman and Spoonmaster rave about them, I thought I would give it a try.

Even when they were building it, I was wondering how they planned to handle the parking. There’s just not enough parking places for how busy they are going to be on summer weekends. That parking lot looks barely big enough to support that apartment complex.
I noticed many of the parking spots with an “R” on them, which I’m assuming means “resident”. I may just stop by sometimes on the busy weekends, sit on the b
Well dam, that doesn’t sound epic. We are still on the front side of the high pressure, epicness will not start until tonight on the back side of the front. I should be a politician the way I can CYA.

Don’t base the lack of epicness on my ability (or lack there of) to locate and catch stripers. I’m sure there is a great deal of epicness to be had by those with greater skills than me. For I have yet to master the Zen of Morone Saxatilis
Just fillet, batter and fry. Perch are pretty good table fare.
Haven’t posted in a while but still keep an eye on ya’ll guys! Looking forward to a hopefully good evening w/ Tom - it will be a good evening, hope the catching is good also! Anybody fish this morning? Wondering what the water stain is like from the big gap down towards the bottom of the lake?

Worked the eastern creeks with planers and floats this AM. Water temp was 67.8 when we put out and was a little stained. Fish were mighty hard to locate. Finally wound up with two shorts, two 22’s, and one 23. WT at 72 when we quit. Still a pleasant day on the water.
Well we went out last night and it was extremely non epic. First time Triton and I got skunked fishing together. Never even had a pull down. Had two herring come back with bite marks but they never pulled enough to notice. Fished a creek on the lexington side above spence and the towers/dam. Marked fish, but no takers. Our bait was huge, some of the best bait I’ve seen.

Crabjack, How was the white perch? Good, bad or average? I’ve got two guys at work that will take every perch I catch. They say they’re the best fish they’ve ever tasted.

It was quite good. Filleted, coated with some fish breader I had in the pantry and pan fried. The taste is much better than striper but not quite as tasty as flounder. On par with a good fried catfish filet IMHO.

I was seeing some bait just off the rocks when I trolled past you, but not marking any stripers at all, so I decide to hang it up since I had been on the lake 24 hrs at that point. LOL
Instead of getting up to fish early Friday am, I put the boat in Thurs night, brought along a pillow and blanket and slept on the front deck. Best sleep I had in a long time. Woke up in the morning with Richard parked next to me…never heard a thing. Fished till lunchtime, then lunch at Tap Room , visited a friend on the lake and then took a nap in the shade by Spence. After that, tried a little trolling at dark when I saw you, but that didn’t pan out, so I got off the water at about 10:30/11:00.
That was probably the first time I ever got home from the lake and still felt a rocking motion like I was still on the boat.
