Hit folly river and then on up towards stono river from there yesterday…bait everywhere and had a bucket full in just two casts…perfect size little finger mullet and lots of shrimp…although most were pretty small and I had to cull through them. Even caught a big crab in one of the cast. Lost the floating minnow bucket a couple days back so took a buccket and little aeriator for it and it worked ok…jsut more stuff to trip over in the boat. caught lots of little trout, a couple nice ones, one big red…two huge stingrays…and I mean huge. Saw one of them…the other I never turned…if youve ever hooked a big ray …you definately know when you have another one on…suction cup to the bottom with wings and a tail:imp:… rode by bowens to see the fire damage…rode on up past crosbys to check out the new bridge construction…thn took the back creeks to morris island.Let Roo run on the sandbar in front of the marina…had some good laughs at Roo chasing a crab in the water. Pretty day on the water…and the bonus of catching fish too…
ha,Did Roo get him a crab, glad that fire only claimed one building could of been worse, Charleston County did a good job with getting everyone on scen, I was working that night.
Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

Great post as usual Penn, and really enjoyed the Pics. My dad, daughter, and I are headed down to Beaufort, to the Broad to try the fishing tomarrow (Fri) so thanks for the product review of what they were hitting. Hopefully I can throw enough at them that we can figure out what they like down there too. We will be down there from before high tide in the a.m. to after low tide in the p.m. so hopefully we will have some fun.

Great pics again Penny! What was written on the aft “sheet flag”? When we were over off Sam’s Point last fall we couldn’t keep enough bait on hand to feed the 13" trout! But it was nice knowing that there were still a good population of them around.
The banner says… “A pirate turns forty”. That sail boat stays there now…there are two in the channel that have even rigged up floating docks so they have patios alongside…lol.
Roo didn’t get the crab…but one got her…she jumped about three feet in the air!..but went right back looking for it again
I tried several other colors too on the grubs…sometimes “the old faithful” stuff works best…both of those colors have been around a long time. We caught lots in the 11-12 inch range
“all trout caught on electric chickens, copper pennys and little mullet fished on the bottom carolina rig style” </font id=“red”>
Good stuff as usual, Penny. Pardon my ignorance, but in your above quote did you mean you were fishing the artificials on a Carolina rig like you were the mullet? If so, has the Carolina rig worked well for you with artificials? Thanks in advance.
“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”
Nah…grubs fished as grubs are fished and the mullet were fished on the bottom on Carolina rigs…but I have stuck grubs on Carolina rigs and caught fish before when I rainout of bait lol
I saw a nature show once on Discovery Graphic, or something like that, where they were discussing the habits of different dolphin pods around the world. Showing that different groups learn different things based on their habitat. One area they highlighted was the Low Country, and the beaching that our dolphins do. Apparently, this is the only known area that dolphins do this behavior. Always makes it seem extra special to see that knowing that you won’t really see this anywhere else.
Sirecks…I saw that video too…we have been seeing a lot of them feeding like this lately.
On a funny note…
Who Dat"…?? Hahahaha…
Thursday mmmm and daddy were coming in from fishing…yeah…I said MOM AND DADDY……and said a nice cople from nc spotted them, came over and said they see my posts on here and recognized him…then yesterday while crabbing. Someone one else “hailed” him and said they’d been reading my stories about him for years…they were from manning…haha…daddy always laughs that I’ve made him a celebrity of sorts…but I think he really gets a kick out of it as he loves talking to people
Thanks to whoever y’all were for the nice things said and making my daddy…and mom smile:smiley:
