Today was shaping up to be like the rest of this season. Fished the outgoing tide in the Wando until dead low with no luck. Moved to the ‘new grillage’ but couldn’t get my cheap anchor to catch on, so we moved to the jetties instead and put the Minkota to work. After three hours of no action on live mullet, a school of menhaden showed up. One net - about 50 large menhaden. Kept 10 because we only had about an hour left before we had to leave. After soaking the first menhaden for 30 seconds, my buddy landed a 34in bull red - his first red drum in South Carolina. Soaked another menhaden and landed a 32in. Third menhaden yielded a 40-41in red, smashing the boat record (37 previous). Then we had a double set of bull reds, another first for the boat. Fishing started to slow down but we managed two more bulls before we headed out. 7 bulls total within an hour. Every menhaden we put on the hook got smashed. Awesome way to end the day!
Nice report. Way to get 'em.

Congrats on a fun day , nice pics of the reds and appreciate the way you’re handling them “no hanging them by the lip or fingers in the gill plates” Thanks for sharing!!!

When you see “Old Glory” waving in the breeze, know that it is the dying breaths of our fallen hero’s that makes it wave.

Strong pivot to redeem the day! Lots of people would just let those haden pass through
and miss what the ocean is trying to say. Always mix in some cut mullet into the bait rotation to
cover all bases.
Great video
