Thursday night Murray Report

Went out last night at about 4:30. I searched Ballentine for 2 hours and never found any fish at all. Most of the lake was 51*. I found a cove that was 55* and thought that would hold fish, but no striper there. There were some small fish, but not striper. I ended up going to the towers and getting 4 of the typical 16" to 18" fish. Someone was tied to the tower that caught one just at 21" and a few shorts. I am pretty sure all the fish that were at the lower end have moved up. A month ago there were a lot of fish in ballentine and now none. Tons of birds out on the main lake too, but not fish under them. Dogwoods are starting to bloom, so the striper are probably making there spawn run.

Thanks man, I haven’t been fishing in a while. Just got tired of consistantly not catching anything over 21". I’ll wait till the weather warms back up a little more before I get serious with it again.

Take a Fish Boating!

I generally do not catch much in March. I start catching again in April when the fish finish there run. But I never really fished up past the the river split. I may try up river more this year. I like when the fish are down on the lower end. I can spend more time fishing and less driving.

Thanks for the report Tom. When this bloomin rain quits I am running up the lake and giving them a shot. Buddy of mine is in town for the week so we might try a few times are the rains. I’ll post up what i find if anything.

This cold front will make for very tough fishing. Plus the upper lake will probably be mud.
