Left Edisto with a rookie crew of my sons fraternity brothers and put in just inshore of the Edisto banks. Trolled the banks for 2 hours with no action. Decided to bottom fish and ended up keeping 18, a mixture of pinks, beeliners, BSBs and a single trigger. Release many more of those plus 2AJs and a red snapper (vented). Went back to trolling and headed out deeper with no expectations. Outrigger goes off in 210ft and we hook a nice bull dolphin that jumped several times and then threw the hook. Really excited to see a dolphin so early. He is still out there for someone. Found a baby weedline just offshore of that but no more action. As is our custom, headed back in to the ledge and trolled toward home until quitting time of 3:45, and as happens so ofter the downrigger goes at 3:40 and we are on with a nice wahoo to end the day. The boys were stellar and had no problems with seasickness. Water temp at banks was 69, with school of little tuna breaking everywhere. Tried throwing jigs and lures to them but no takers. Temp at 210ft was 71. Perfect day weatherwise. Sorry for the late report
