Hey guys,
Been lurking for a little bit, but I figured I’d start posting reports because I finally got a digital camera (its waterproof). Hit up the Folly area Thurs morning and fished a little flat I’ve been scouting for a while. The reds were riled up and I ended up with 12 with 6 of those over 30". Had my first double on the yak and the second (and biggest) fish came on my new little Loomis trout rod. All fish were caught on gulps twitched slowly on bottom, splitshot on 20# flouro and 3/0 owner circle hook. When I ran out of gulp crabs and shrimp, they hit the swimming mullet. I’m new to posting pics, but I’ll try.
JT, you must of had a great time. Seems like the Yaks are starting to kick azz. How long were you out there?
never in my life caught that many big fish… great job jt… Thanks for the post and pictures!

How do you like the X-Factor?
“Live like you will live forever but live like you will die tomorrow.”
Hey i know that boat!!! Is that you matt?? nice job bro… when you gonna go out to the jetties with me… and dont give me this “waters to cold, hypothermia, blah, blah, stuff…” dont be a stranger man…

Thanks for the comments, guys. To answer your questions; I did a lot of scouting during the high tide and tried to find a few new spots. I probably paddled 10-11 miles that day, but all of those fish were caught within about two hours on both sides of the low tide. The bite never even stopped during the slack. I love my X-Factor. It just has so much storage and is very stable. I’m planning on some camping and surf fishing trips in the next month or two. The only drawback is the weight. But, if you’re a decent sized guy, its definately manageable. And Mike, yeah, thats me. We need to get out and fish soon. It might be the perfect time to hit the jetties for some sheepshead on the pole spear. Waters clear enough to see them from the surface. I just need to borrow a 5 mil wetsuit from someone. Within a month, I’ll be done with grad school and will be ready to do more fishing. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys and taking some trips. I need someone to take these pics for me;)
Heres a good pic of the yak:
